It’s been a while since I’ve written a post, and I wanted to pop in here quick to let everyone know I’m still here, even though I’ve been a little MIA lately. Work has been busy, and it’s report card season—so my brain is going about a mile a minute and I’m trying my best to fit in all I need to and want to accomplish these days.
One thing on my list to tackle today is a quick blog post, so here goes!

I finally cleared all the winter decor out of our master bedroom, and wanted to freshen the room up a bit for spring. Personally, I don’t usually decorate for spring with Easter eggs or bunnies (although it’s fine if you do, of course!) but I do like to add some other design elements that give the room a fresh feel.
Here is a breakdown of the elements I used to help create my spring bedroom:
White bedding
The first thing I pulled out was some white bedding. I had this embroidered duvet cover and eyelet euro shams already, so I used those because white things make the room feel bright and fresh. I also love the look of white bedding against our dark gray bed.
A cozy coloured throw
Green is my favourite accent colour for spring. I added in this light green throw blanket, and it’s the coziest thing ever! I was looking for a throw blanket with tassels, and this one was perfect.
Pillows for a pop of colour or texture
I picked up my textured lumbar pillow at Ross when I was down in the US and unfortunately I don’t have a link for it. I did find this similar in style boho lumbar pillow cover that I may just have to order for myself though! In the corner of our bedroom is my cozy reading chair (okay, let’s be real—it’s basically a pile-the-laundry chair) and I switched out the pillow cover and added this beautiful floral pillow. It’s velvety soft, and I love how the base colour is green but the flowers add a fun pop of colour too. My pillow seems to be out of stock, but I came across these beautiful green velvet pillows that I thought were also worth sharing!
Real or faux greenery
Greenery adds life to a space, even if it is a faux plant! This succulent looks very realistic, and I love that it comes in a white pot already. The dusty green layered my greenery on top of books on our nightstands.
The dusty green plant in the terracotta pot was a recent Dollarama find! And the other plant in the basket on the floor is a real plant, and I have to say it hardly EVER gets watered. I am amazed it is still doing so well!
Florals
I also dug out of my closet these faux roses. These ones are so great because they look and feel like they are real. Florals are the perfect spring addition—real or faux!
I love that my favourite rug that I already had in our bedroom works as the perfect neutral backdrop for decorating for any season.
So there you have it, my bedroom refresh. How do you like to decorate for spring? There really is no right or wrong answer—I think the key is to decorate with what you love and what makes you feel good in a space. I’d love to hear your comments below!

Thank you, Shawna! I’ve had the bedding for a couple years now and still love it! Target has the best bedding so I always stock up when I get a chance to go to Target in the US!
