Christmas may be over, but I figured it was better late than never for me to share my Christmas decor with you today. I had big plans to catch up on blogging over my Christmas break. Now it’s the last day of my break and I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and write. I did manage to snap a few photos of some of my Christmas decor in our home this year which I have shared throughout this post. Some of you readers may still enjoy ideas for next year!

I thought (naively) over the break I might paint a wall or even an entire room. In actuality, my home projects only consisted of cleaning up. Catching up on laundry, vacuuming, mopping, sorting toys and cleaning out closets. I didn’t even hang my wreath on my front door until Christmas Eve this year! I basically spent my whole Christmas break cleaning. Sadly, as I look around, it doesn’t really look like it currently. Oh, the joys of having 4 kids…a room can be destroyed in a matter of minutes.
I did my best to take some time to rest the last couple weeks also. I even slept in a little for the first time in a while. It’s always lovely when my kids don’t wake me up by running around screaming downstairs! September through December have been rather busy in my world as a teacher, so I really needed some down time. I don’t feel at all ready to return to work this week, but it’s happening whether I like it or not!
Our Christmas 2020 was quite different than a typical Christmas in our family. Usually, we have multiple family dinners to attend and lots of family to visit with. That was greatly missed this year as we spent Christmas at home with only our own immediate family. But there were a few things that we always do that we still did and enjoyed this Christmas. We drove around looking at the lights and went to the candlelight church service on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning we ate warm cinnamon rolls and egg casserole, and a big turkey dinner in the afternoon. (Actually we postponed our turkey dinner until the evening because could this year, we were so full from breakfast!)
I hope you were able to find joy in the simple things this Christmas. I wish you a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2021! Thanks for stopping by my little blog today!
