It always helps to find an inspiration pic to help make decisions when it comes to lighting. I love how Ashley from @arrowsandbow hung her gold sconces above the bed. Her adorable nightstands didn’t have room for table lamps, so sconces were a great option. This is a great placement if you enjoy reading in bed. I actually would have preferred this placement in our room, but the space between our headboard and windows I didn’t think would allow it.

I absolutely love Ashley’s entire home! She has a minimalistic approach to decorating, and they are in the process of renovating their new home. I adore her style! If you aren’t following Ashley @arrowsandbow on Instagram, you’re missing out! Her home has always an inspiration to me, and I love how she takes her time to find the perfect pieces to decorate with, rather than settle on things she doesn’t necessarily love.
Back to talking about my sconces—I couldn’t decide between gold sconces or black sconces, so I went with sconces that had both colors! The new sconces might start a trickle effect in our room because now I want to change out the hardware on our nightstands.
We have black Ikea Malm dressers, and years ago we dressed them up a bit with hardware. Currently, the handles have a chrome finish, but I’d love to upgrade them to antique brass or gold instead. I’m thinking of using this stuff on them to change the finish. I also love these antique gold handles and might order some. Changing one thing always leads to another!
Look how much space I have on my nightstand now! It frees up lots of room for me set the book I’m reading, a water bottle, or to charge my phone. Are you team sconce or team lamp? This is my first time having sconces and I am loving them!
