Last night after my husband was home and we got all 4 kids in bed, I got to sneak out of the house for a bit for some me time! I wanted to look for some fun farmhouse style finds for my sister’s front porch. Well…let’s be real…I may have been looking for my own front porch too!
I made it to Home Sense about a half hour before closing time, so I had to look fast! One of the first things I looked at was wreaths. It can be hard to find faux wreaths that don’t look too fake or even tacky. I thought this lavender wreath was beautiful! I love lavender for a fresh springy look hanging on the front door. This one was $29.99.
I love cement and ceramic pots on the front porch. A lot of the pots I have are just the standard plastic ones that you can buy planters in at a greenhouse. Nothing fancy. I’d love to switch them out this year for something like these ones. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the price of these. They ranged from about $7.99-$16.99 depending on size.
These last ones were my favorite.! I love the aztec pattern on them!
Home Sense had a great assortment of faux plants that I thought would be beautiful on a stand or end table on the front porch. Normally when it’s spring, I am thinking about what real plants I’m going to purchase for my deck and front porch. The problem is, I don’t get a ton of sunlight on my front porch because it faces northwest, and it is covered. The garage also shades it in the late afternoon. So getting enough light can be an issue. I’m loving ferns these days, and this faux fern caught my eye. I love the cute pot it’s in too! I’m still thinking about getting some real ferns for the front porch because they love shade, but this would be a cute no maintenance option.
I’m not sure if this plant is considered lamb’s ears, but it looks like that to me! The leaves are fuzzy and soft. I wanted to buy this for my bathroom counter, but it would be nice on the front porch too!
Home Sense of course had a ton of metal and wooden lanterns that would look great on the front porch. These black metals ones were in the clearance section because they had missing panes of glass. I thought they’d be nice with a citronella candle in them to fend off mosquitos, or even a little flowering plant.
This metal medallion (is that what you call them?) I thought would look beautiful hung on a bare exterior wall of the house or garden shed. It was $49.99 though, which I thought was a little pricey. Also, I wasn’t sure how you’d hang it without wrecking your siding?
My favorite find yesterday were these cute faux topiaries from Walmart! How cute would they be on either side of the door or front step? I love how these would look great year after year, and you don’t have to worry about watering them or them getting enough sunlight!
What do you all think about my finds for the front porch? I purchased nothing yesterday, believe it or not, but when the hubby gets home tonight I may just have to go back and pick up a couple things! Which are your favorites? What ideas or plans do you have for your front porch this spring? I’d love to hear your ideas!
