It’s one of those cloudy, dreary days, so I thought I’d do a fun post for you today for a little pick me up. My daughter and I had a mommy-daughter shopping date the other day at HomeSense, which was really fun! Anyone with multiple children in the family knows how hard it can be to get quality time with your kids individually, so this was a treat for both of us. My daughter is starting to like home decor like me, and she likes to shop for things for her bedroom. She basically loves anything pink, flowery, or sparkly! I let my daughter pick out one thing in HomeSense. She picked a sparkly blue sequinned journal with a unicorn on it. Unfortunately, we didn’t end up buying it. To make a long story short, the price tag fell off somewhere in the store, and they were going to charge us more for it than how it had first been marked. So we left empty handed and my daughter found a pretty flowery journal at the good old Dollar Tree instead.

With decorating my daughter’s room on my mind, I thought it would be fun to see what other fun girl’s room decor I could come up with. Since my daughter loves pretty things that are brightly-coloured and sparkly, and I love farmhouse style and neutral decor, I started thinking about ways to mesh our two styles.
When I’m designing a room, I like to start with one decor piece that I absolutely love and then go from there. I really love oriental rugs, and I think this pink one would be so gorgeous in a girl’s bedroom. It blends vintage style with the bright colours that my daughter is drawn to. I think it would be the perfect jumping off point to design a girl’s bedroom around. (My daughter has a gorgeous neutral rug in her bedroom, so if you are looking for something a little more subtle, you can check out that rug here.)
I am usually drawn to botanical or nature art. I think this gorgeous peony painting would look beautiful with the vintage rug I suggested above. My daughter loves flowers, so she would love this brightly coloured painting for her room!
My boys have this bed in the bronze color in their shared bedroom. We absolutely love this bed, especially for the price. For a girls room, I prefer this bed in white. I think a white metal bed looks so pretty in a girls bedroom! This bed is 50% off and under $100 for a twin size right now, so you can’t go wrong!
I think this star pendant light is absolutely beautiful. I would love this in my mudroom entry, but I also think it would be so pretty hanging in a girl’s bedroom!
These set of heart mirrors my daughter would love! I love the rustic style of these mirrors, and she would love them because, well, what little girl doesn’t love anything heart shaped?!
I love this jewelry tree for hanging necklaces and bracelets on. The leaf on the bottom would be perfect for storing earrings and rings. I thought it would look so cute on my daughter’s dresser!
This gorgeous ruffled pink throw blanket would be the perfect accent piece in a girl’s room. I love the texture! It looks like it would be super soft and would be great for layering on the bed for a pop of color.
I love white bedding, because it is so versatile and classic. You can dress it up with pillows or throw blankets, and change your accent colour without having to replace your bedding. I think this scalloped edge white quilt would be so lovely for a girl’s room!
Textured pillows are my favourite, and I these pink fringe pillows would be so beautiful layered on the bed with an accent pillow in front. My daughter loves unicorns, so I know she would love a unicorn pillow!
I love this jute basket for laundry or toys. Baskets are some of my favourite decor, because you can use them to store so many things. This one is braided and looks beautifully handmade!
My daughter has a small white wall shelf in her room. Floating shelves make great places to display favourite accessories or books.
We display our books on the shelf with book ends. We have a cute set of black A-Z books ends. I love these wood A-Z bookends or these ceramic ones that look like marble.
I love this beautiful Little House Book Set. We are currently reading “Little House in the Big Woods” to my daughter, and she loves it! I’m enjoying it too! I read these books when I was younger, but I’ve forgotten much of them.
Having a little girl (who is growing up ever so fast!) is so much fun! I hope you love some of these ideas as much as I do! I’d love to hear if this post has inspired you for your daughter’s room!
