Christmas season is in full swing, and next week is about to get even busier! There are Christmas concerts to go to, cookies to bake for school Christmas parties, work Christmas parties to attend, Christmas shopping and the wrapping of presents—the list could go on and on this time of year.
My husband plays hockey on the weekends, so that is the time I get to relax and little and do a little something for myself. For me, decorating my home is one of my favourite hobbies that I like to do when I have a bit of time. When the kids are in bed and the house is quiet, I enjoy creating beautiful spaces for my family to enjoy throughout our home. Unfortunately, there is usually lots of cleaning and tidying to be done before I can actually begin decorating, but once I get past that little hurdle, I really enjoy the decorating process. The other night I added some Christmasy touches to a corner of our master bedroom. I’ve had this tufted chair for a while now, and I absolutely love switching up the pillows and throws on it. To be completely honest, I hardly ever sit in it, even though it is quite comfortable, but I mostly just bought it for looks anyway! I bought an inexpensive, flocked tree for our room this year. I sure do love how it looks, but oh boy, are those things ever messy! I am thankful this is the only flocked tree I own! I added a cozy knit throw pillow, a red herringbone throw blanket, some greenery, knit stockings and twinkle lights, and voila—a cozy Christmas corner! The room just feels so much cozier now with the glow of the Christmas lights. Would it be strange if I kept my Christmas tree up all year?
