Last week I randomly decided to paint my guest bedroom. It was one of those jobs that I’ve been wanting to do, but it really wasn’t on my “need” to do list. It took me a couple of days to finish the job, but it was worth it! Fresh paint is such an easy and relatively inexpensive way to give a room a whole new feel. I still have a few things I want to do in this room before the room refresh will be complete, but here is the progress so far.
Our guest room is on the north side of our house. It has a good sized window, but I always find the room to be dark and dreary feeling, even on a sunny day. The room was originally painted a very soft light blue (Ocean Air by Benjamin Moore) but it still felt dull. I decided to brighten things up by painting the room “Chantilly Lace” by Benjamin Moore. It also happens to be the same color as all the trim, so that made the job about 10 times easier because I didn’t even bother to tape off the baseboards or window and door trim.
Now that the walls are white, I don’t even mind the honey oak furniture anymore. The furniture seems to add some warmth to the room!
The black nightstand I recently refinished using this paint. It was a dream to work with! I still need to add these new gold handles I found.
I want to replace the overhead light with this beautiful pendant. It will go perfect with the boho vibe in this room that I was going for.
I decided to refresh my oil-rubbed bronze lamps too. This textured spray paint is what I used to give them a stone-like look. I updated them with these new shades too. I love how they turned out!
The room feels so much brighter and airier now when I walk in. Of course, I had to pick up a few new textiles for the room to help freshen things up. The curtains, comforter (that has the prettiest texture!) and throw blanket are all from HomeSense. I found this similar comforter set in gray. Who’s coming over to stay when this pandemic is over?!
I’ve been trying to figure out what to hang on the wall above the bed, and I decided that a pretty boho rattan mirror would be perfect! I rounded up a few of my favorite rattan mirrors below!
Thanks for checking out my post today, I can’t wait to show you the room when I have it complete!
