It’s snowing again today, so our yard is thick with fluffy white snow. The snow plows haven’t been out yet and the school buses aren’t running, so it’s tempting to just stay in all day. But the school was still open and the kids would hate to miss a Friday (ipad day!) so I braved the roads and dropped the kids off at school. It seems like a good day to curl up on the couch with the kids, some cozy throw blankets, and some good books. (And maybe a good day to do some online shopping!)
I went through my Christmas decor yesterday, with plans to get rid of the things I never use anymore. I have a lot of ornaments I’ve rounded up over the years, but I really have very little Christmas “decor”. This year I bought myself a couple little evergreen trees (see this post), a Joy sign, a ribbon and some vintage looking ornaments for the tree. I’d love to add some cute Christmas pillows or throw blankets to my decor this Christmas, so I spent some time searching Amazon for some ideas. I’m pretty much obsessed with throw blankets, but I was able to limit my list to 10 of my favourites!

First up is this adorable reindeer blanket, made of fleece and sherpa. There are other pattern options too, but this was my favorite! It would be a cute Christmas gift or festive addition to a living room or bedroom for the holidays.
I’m was planning to decorate fairly neutral this Christmas season, but I’ve already changed my mind a little and I’m going to incorporate some red. What’s Christmas without some red accents? This herringbone throw blanket would be a pretty accent on a chair in the living room. (I may have just ordered this one for our family last night!)
I also think this simple red cable knit blanket would be a great accent blanket for Christmas. A simple solid-color blanket will go well with patterned pillows that you might also have going on.
I’ve also got a thing for plaid this year. I love this fleece and sherpa throw blanket.
Or this plush and sherpa blanket! Love the colors in this one!
This cream-colored neutral cable knit pom pom blanket looks like a fun wintery accent to add to a bedroom or living room. Aren’t the pom poms adorable?!
Here’s a nice, thick and cozy cream faux fur blanket. It’s the perfect blanket for cuddling up in, and would be a nice, neutral addition to any room.
Here’s another faux fur blanket that would be a perfect cozy couch blanket. We have a couple faux fur ones, and they are always the ones we fight over!
I actually ordered this cozy grey ribbed throw blanket a couple weeks ago. Don’t you think this would be the perfect tv-watching blanket? I also thought it would make a nice gift this Christmas season.
I have a blanket very similar to this chenille knitted blanket in a cream color. It is my absolute favorite blanket to drape over the furniture, and it’s a nice thick one to curl up with!
I hope you love my throw blanket picks as much as I do! I think throw blankets always make a great gift. They make cute decor, but they also are always well-used items in the home. Which ones are your favourites? Drop me a comment below—I’d love to hear from you!
