Whew!! Is anyone else glad it’s the weekend? It’s just been a normal week around here, not really any busier than usual, but with my husband working long days lately, the days at home with the kids are LONG. My youngest hasn’t been sleeping all that great either (teething!) so I sometimes don’t function that well with lack of sleep! I just put some peppermint oil in the diffuser, so I’m hoping it will give me a bit of a pick-me-up and I can get motivated to get some things accomplished today. Laundry is on today’s list!
Speaking of laundry, today I thought I would show you our laundry room. It isn’t huge, but it’s definitely nice to have a dedicated space for laundry. I went with a simple subway tile backsplash in our laundry room, and the countertops have a laminate finish, but it looks like concrete, which I love! Our walls are painted “Palladian Blue” by Benjamin Moore.
I found this seagrass laundry hamper basket at HomeSense. It holds a lot of laundry (which is necessary for a family of 6) and I love that it is sturdy and holds it’s shape. It has a blue-green colour woven in which matches the wall colour perfectly.
My sister gave me the soft plaid throw blanket recently for my birthday. You can get this throw blanket here.
One of my favourite things in my laundry room is this antique bowl on the counter. My mom gave it to me, but she said it used to be my Great-Grandma’s bowl (and it may have been older than that!) It has a lovely, crackled finish.
I simply use it to store my wool dryer balls. If you haven’t tried wool dryer balls, I’d highly recommend trying them! They act like a natural fabric softener, reduce static, and cut down on drying time. I love to add a few drops of essential oils to the dryer balls (such as lavender) so that my clothes still have a nice, light scent but without the harmful chemicals. I never use dryer sheets anymore.
I use a basket on the counter to store my laundry soap and some jars for storage. My jars were from Ikea, but I’d love to get some of these jars with a nice wide mouth to reach a scoop in. I usually have the jars filled with clothes pins and some of this stain-removal powder.
I shared this foaming soap dispenser in my post about my powder room bathroom the other day, and I am loving it! So far I have two of these, but might order more! I love it for my Thieves foaming hand soap that I use from Young Living.
My rug is from Ikea. This jute rug is similar. I still need to get a non-slip rug pad for under it, because it does slide around on the tile floor easily.
The print on the wall I found on Etsy. I simply printed it at Staples on cardstock, and framed it in one of my favourite picture frames from Michael’s.
The rack on the wall is also from Ikea. We really needed a spot to hang clothes to dry, so I always keep some wooden hangers in here. I love having hooks on the shelf too because it’s the perfect place to air dry swimsuits or undergarmets.
The baskets on top are the perfect place to store my favourite antibacterial cleaning cloths or rags. My baskets are from Michael’s.
Here’s a few other cute items that I think would be perfect in a laundry room:
I saw this adorable metal basket, and I think it would work perfect for laundry supplies. The galvanized metal gives it the perfect farmhouse look!
These woven baskets would be great for storage for towels, laundry soap, rags, lost socks, etc.
These jars are huge and would be gorgeous in a laundry room! For laundry soap, clothes pins, etc.!
This large wicker basket would be perfect for tossing laundry in, and the handles would make it easy to tote around.
This floating wall shelf would be great in a laundry room for air drying clothes. It is nice and narrow too, so would be perfect for tight spaces.
This rolling cart is perfect for sorting lights and darks, but it is also cute decor.
I also love this rolling hamper. I love the pattern of the metal, and the wheels are adorable!
Have a great weekend, everyone! I love hearing from you, so drop me a comment below!

Beautiful! Where is the countertop from and how deep is it?
Valley + Birch says
They are 27″ deep, it’s just a laminate countertop that looks like concrete. I don’t know the brand but I think I probably found the sample at home depot.
