Today is one of those days where all I want to do is turn on the fireplace and cozy up in a blanket by the fire. It’s September 17, still summer, but the early snow that fell last week gave me winter vibes! We even stopped and picked up some winter boots for my daughter yesterday, so she has them this week for school. We were a little unprepared for the snow last week (as I’m sure many were) and the kids didn’t have the proper winter gear yet.

The snow has pretty much all melted today, so I’m feeling a little more positive that we haven’t skipped fall this year. I’ve been searching for fall decor inspiration, and have already done a few easy fall DIY projects including making a wreath, sign, floral arrangement and a fall centrepiece. Today I thought it would be fun to round up some rugs and pillows that would be perfect for fall decor. My preference is always to choose decor that would work year round. I think my picks still give a fall feel, but would work any time of the year. I think pumpkins are cute, but they only suit the season a couple months of the year. The colour palette that I went with includes beige, taupe, ivory, grey, navy and terracotta orange. I think this combination gives off a warm, cozy, and inviting feeling. Many of these items could be mixed and matched with each other.
I’ll start with the more neutral combinations:

But, I’ve had to get a rug cleaning every few months because it gets dirty so fast… so, I’m looking to replace it. The Hillsby rug is my top choice so far!
