Yesterday I was washing the sheets on the beds, and I decided to switch out all the bedding in our master bedroom. We usually have a duvet on the bed, and I have a handful of different duvet covers that I rotate through. My favourite duvet cover is a white one from Ikea, but it is starting to get a little worn and the snaps don’t stay closed, (because apparently I thrash around at night!) My husband could sleep with the covers perfectly intact in the morning, but I like to roll up in them so the covers are always a mess! So it’s time for a new duvet cover and I thought I would look online to see what I could find. I found this plain white duvet cover set on Amazon for $27! What?!!! $27 for a king size duvet cover? I ordered it on the spot because it’s always nice to have an extra duvet cover on hand, and you can’t go wrong with white! I’ll keep you posted about my thoughts on my new duvet cover when I receive it and get the chance to try it out! I’m excited for this one because the reviews are great and it has a zipper closure as opposed to snaps or buttons.
In the meantime, I needed to put something on the bed for a cover. I really didn’t feel like fighting with a duvet yesterday, so I took the lazy route and grabbed a grey and white quilt that I bought a little over a year ago. I threw it on top of our duvet, because it is fairly lightweight and I love heavy blankets for extra comfort, and so the bed still has a cozy feel.
The pattern of this quilt is so beautiful! It’s grey and white with a modern floral pattern on it. I love neutral colours, and have been using them more and more throughout our home. I love how this quilt works so well with our farmhouse style rug.
I absolutely love our new quilt (this quilt is similar), and I got it for a steal. We actually took a bunch of newborn pictures on this quilt when my son was born (he turned one on Sunday!)
I bought our bench at HomeSense, but this bench looks almost identical in style, but in grey.
The “Love is Patient” sign I made using my Silhouette Portrait machine. I’m so glad I bought this machine, and have used it for quite a few projects. It’s small and compact, and easy to use for a beginner like me. I originally wanted to get the Silhouette Cameo, but opted for the Portrait instead because of cost. I bought my Silhouette Portrait machine here a couple years ago. I love making farmhouse signs with it, and this sign is one of my favourites. I love these bible verses from 1 Corinthians, and I think the master bedroom is the perfect place for this sign!
The charcoal plaid pillow cover in the basket I ordered a few months ago. Usually I have two of these on our bed with a white duvet cover, but it was a little too much pattern combined with the quilt! I love these pillows and was not ready to tuck them away, so I tossed them in a basket with an extra blanket.
