I don’t know about you, but our master bedroom seems to always be the last room in the house to get tidied. I don’t spend much of my day in my bedroom, and sleeping in isn’t an option in a houseful of 4 kids! I still haven’t completely finished decorating our master bedroom in the almost 3 years we’ve been living in our house, so there are always a few unfinished projects on the go in our bedroom. When company comes over, no one goes in our bedroom, so it’s often the go-to place to stash the laundry basket of unfolded clothes. Lately, I’ve been on a mission to keep our bedroom tidier. I won’t go as far to say I’ve been making our bed every morning, but I’ve definitely put in more of an effort to make the bed more often!
One of my favorite decorating tricks is to just simply switch out the throw pillows and duvet cover on the bed. I have a closet with a few extra goodies that I can just grab from when I want to switch things up for a fresh look. I’m loving neutral colors lately, and these farmhouse style pillows work perfect with my wall color.

These charcoal grey plaid pillows are great quality, and I love the burlap texture! These are the 20″ x 20″ size, and my Ikea Fjadrar feather pillow inserts fit in them perfectly.
Isn’t this quote pillow adorable? I think it’s perfect for a master bedroom.
I needed to pick up a smaller pillow insert to fit my quote pillow cover, so I ordered some down pillow inserts. I’m a big fan of feather pillow inserts as opposed to the poly-filled ones. They seem better quality and they are much easier to position perfectly.
My duvet cover is from Ikea. I do love the texture of it, although I wish it was a tad bigger. I find the king size to be a little small for the duvet that we have. This other simple white king duvet cover is a steal for under $30!
I love to have an extra blanket on the bed for those chilly nights. My grey knit blanket I bought at Target a few years ago. Here is a similar textured knit blanket, that comes in a variety of sizes.
I love the coziness of a duvet, but I don’t love how bunched up our duvet gets inside the cover. I would also love to get a plain white quilt with some embroidery or texture. This king size quilt has lots of great reviews!
One of my favorite things in our bedroom is this rug. I love how it looks modern and vintage and farmhouse all at the same time. It’s a really good quality rug that I would recommend to anyone!
The lamp on my nightstand is from Ikea, and they don’t make them anymore. This white ceramic lattice lamp I’ve been eyeing on Amazon for a while, and I finally snagged one on sale for my office!
When I get my act together and finish decorating the rest of the room, I’ll post more of our master bedroom. For now you just get the bed view! What do you all think of our master bedroom so far? Thanks for reading today!
