Farmhouse Style Office Decor

If there is one room in my home that is my catch all space (besides my kitchen counter!), it is definitely my office.  It’s where I tend to put things that I’m either not sure what to do with or I have a plan to deal with them later.  Later does eventually come, but it really only looks like an organized space once in a blue moon.  So this week I’m on a mission to deal with the clutter and mess that is my office.

My office is the room where I am storing all my “teacher stuff” since I’m on maternity leave and don’t have a classroom to store it in.  If you’re a fellow teacher, you know how much can accumulate.  You never know when you might have to switch grades taught, so it can be tough to know what to keep and what to get rid of.  I’ve tried to keep mostly digital copies of things in recent years, but I still have a ton of books, math manipulatives and literacy center resources that need a place to be stored.  So the problem with all my teacher stuff being in my office is that it leaves little room for all my other things.  Currently in the office there is everything from bins of too-small kids’ clothes to old computer parts that need to be recycled.  Storage solutions are definitely needed in my office.

1. Isn’t this rug gorgeous?  With neutral colors and a modern pattern, I would love this in my office!

2. I love the weathered-grey faux wood of this desk, combined with black metal legs. Under $200 too!

3. I love the chippy wood look of this beachwood 4 x 6 frame!

4. Wood and metal shelves are my favorite!  This one is perfect for storing books and other office accessories!

 

5. These linen storage bins with lids would fit nicely in my cubby shelves from Ikea.  I just counted and we have FIVE of the Ikea (Kallax/Expedit) shelves in our home.  These storage bins would be perfect for office supply storage.  I like to use my bins for office supplies and cameras and cords.

6. I think this ceramic lattice lamp is so beautiful!  I would love one or two in my office or my master bedroom!

7. I love this large 20″ metal clock!  A clock is a must-have in an office space, and I love the rustic look of this one!

8. This is such a great deal on a this compass pillow cover.  It’s just over $3!  (You will need a pillow insert though!)

 

9. Another cute pillow cover!  Love the cotton/linen fabric and the arrow pattern on this one!  (Again, you will need pillow inserts – my favorite ones are the feather ones from Ikea!)

10. I am really drawn to birch tree art for my home.  I already have a similar canvas art picture like this in my stairwell, but I think this would also look great in an office.

11. These metal baskets would be perfect hung on the wall for storage of cute notebooks, stationary, or books in an office.

12. How cute is this acrylic and gold stapler?  Would be functional and adorable on a desk or shelf.13. I love these rustic grey frames!   4×6 frames are great because I always seem to have photos of this size kicking around, and they are the cheapest to have developed.

14. I absolutely love these marble canisters for storing office supplies.  The reviews say they may not seal perfectly tightly, but that’s not an issue if used in an office space.

15. This cute triple wire basket with handles would look nice with pretty pens or kids’ art supplies in it.

16.  I think this farmhouse grey side table would be the perfect printer stand!

17. I actually own 2 of these trellis area rugs in my home already.  They are my favorite rugs—neutral, soft, and easy to vacuum!

18. This galvanized wall display would be another great storage option with a modern farmhouse look.19. I love this 9 piece gallery wall set.  Would look great with my favorite black and white photos displayed!

20. This is a dining chair, but I think these chairs would look great around a craft table in an office.  My kids love to sit and do projects with me in the office, so these chairs would be perfect!  I love the weathered grey color and x-back.
