It’s safe to say that my favourite home decor item to shop for is a rug! If you look hard enough, there are many great finds out there that won’t break the bank. Their are tons of budget-friendly farmhouse rugs to be found online, and today I’ve done the search for you!
Recently, I was a mission to find a new rug for my basement media room. (You may have seen this post about my media room makeover.) Every time I’m at HomeSense my son says, “Go look at rugs, Mommy?” He knows exactly where mom will end up! And I think he likes to look at them too, because he can hide in between the hanging rugs!

Places to Shop For Inexpensive Rugs
When it comes to rugs, I can’t afford to spent a thousand dollars or more on a rug. I’ve come across rugs I love at Serena and Lily or Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia line, but I just can’t justify the price tag. I know my kids (or cat) are bound to destroy them eventually. Living in Canada, my options are slightly more limited for where I can purchase a rug. I’ve found great rugs at HomeSense, Amazon, Costco, Walmart, and Wayfair (my favorite online store!). I LOVE Target, but much to my dismay, they closed all the Target stores in Canada. So Wayfair and Amazon tend to be my go-to place to shop for rugs.
I drive my husband nuts because he thinks I change up the rugs in our house too often. But that’s the beauty of a rug! You can use it for a while but when it gets worn out, you can switch things up! Also, I love being able to move rugs from room to room in my house. It makes the space feel like new, but it doesn’t cost a penny!

Our living room rug is one of my favourite farmhouse rugs in our home. Above is a picture of it in my living room!
Rugs That I Love:
I’ve made a list of 15 of my favourite farmhouse rugs that I think others might also love! Many of them have a vintage vibe to them. However, I also love rugs that have a more modern, geometric pattern. Most of the rugs I’m drawn to are neutral, but some have a hint of color.
RUG #1:
First up is my favorite rug of all time—I already own 2 of these rugs! (Pictured above in my living room!) If you’re looking for a neutral rug that fits decor in any season, this is a great option. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of this rug, and what sold me were the thousands of awesome reviews! It’s often on sale too!
RUG #2
I purchased this one recently for my daughter’s bedroom. It is so beautiful! The reviews are great, and I’ve seen it pictured in a lot of homes on Instagram!
RUG #3:
Love the vintage look of this rug! I think the faded look is beautiful!
RUG #4:
If you need a little more color, this rug is gorgeous!
RUG #5:
I think the pattern is so interesting in this lovely neutral grey rug!
RUG #6:
I love the faded, vintage look and neutral colors in this one. I think it would be gorgeous in a living room.
RUG #7:
I just purchased this rug for my entryway in my home. It is the same rug as the #2 rug in this list, but in a darker overall grey color. The darker color is perfect for my entryway because it doesn’t show much dirt.
RUG #8:
This one has a more modern look to it. I love the geometric pattern on this rug!
RUG #9:
I have this rug in my boy’s bedroom. It has grey and navy in it which I love for my boys’ room! It also has that vintage vibe I love.
RUG #10:
Awesome price for a larger rug! This one is the one I’m leaning towards purchasing for my media room!
RUG #11:
RUG #12:
Another great neutral rug for a living room or bedroom! I love this one for a hallway runner too!
RUG #13:
Next up is this great option if you need a larger, less inexpensive area rug! It’s often on sale and has lots of great reviews!
RUG #14:
Another all around beautiful neutral rug!
RUG #15:
This rug is a little more traditional, but it’s also one of the more inexpensive options. It comes in other colors too!
Writing about all these rugs has me wanting them all! I think at the top of my list for our basement are #2, #10. and #13. I’ve convinced myself I love all of them….I can’t make up my mind! What would you choose? I’m loving neutral rugs these days!

Hi there. This is a helpful post – however I’m not able to find Rug #1 on Wayfair…are you able to share what it’s called? Thanks so much.

So glad the post was helpful. They change the names of these rugs so often, right now the rug is called Giannini Geometric Gray Area Rug. Here is another link for it: https://rstyle.me/+-gxnSZ62-tv3UsUzBAdJKg rug

Hi there,
I can’t figure out which one rug number 2 is. Could you please provide the link? 🙂

I’m sorry, I can’t find it anymore either! They are always changing the names of the rugs and the links change too so it makes it difficult to find things. I’ll try to update the links!
